The Hub’s engagements have included hosting events at the Third UN World Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction (WCDRR) in Sendai, Japan and at the 21st Conference of Parties (COP21) in Paris. Europe and Central Asia (ECA) Region is prone to a wide range of adverse natural events, such as earthquakes, floods, landslides, droughts, strong winds, and storms. Vulnerability to disasters increased as urbanization and development led to the occupation of areas exposed to natural hazards, and is further exacerbated by climate change.

Over these years, a multi-lateral collaborative research has been carried out toward Master Plan for Asia-Pacific Regions funded by Japanese government. In this paper, application of risk management framework to the development of EqTAP Master Plan is discussed.

RMS’ heavy investment in modeling solutions for Asia-Pacific also includes four new earthquake models for Southeast Asia: in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam – which join existing models for the Philippines and Indonesia, meaning that RMS now models earthquake risk across six countries in Southeast Asia. RMS offers market-focused solutions for earthquakes, floods, tropical cyclones, and severe convective storms across the Asia-Pacific region. Applying the Insights Backed by a large global model development team, RMS is committed to industry-leading science and has pioneered many innovations in catastrophe models and risk management.

Modern Earthquake Risk Assessment (ERA) methods usually require seismo-tectonic information for Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment (PSHA) that may not be readily available in developing countries.

To bypass this drawback, this paper presents a practical event-based PSHA method that uses instrumental seismicity, available historical seismicity, as well as limited information Cited by: 2.Risk Management Solutions Inc., Newark, California, USA.

ABSTRACT: The last decade has shown the social and economic vulnerability of countries in South - East Asia to earthquake hazard and risk. While many disaster mitigation programs to improv e societal earthquake resilience are under way focus ing on saving lives and livelihoods, the risk.ADPC supports academia and countries in the Asia-Pacific region in delivering their academic programs.

ADPC has collaborated with eg. Seismic hazard risk assessment o Public health and emergency management in Asia and the Pacific.
